Everyone (that answered their phone) had a vote and it was a very close run thing, one vote grabbed it and that one vote went to Club Captain Ben Cheadle.
• MANAGER’S PLAYER
Chris & I had a very hard job here so many worthy players capable of winning this award but we decided to go for the player that not only played wherever on pitch but pretty much always drove to the away games and giving fellow team mates lifts to those away games. He also had a great attendance record in training and paying his subs! Manager’s player goes to Phil Jones.
• MOST IMPROVED PLAYER
Again a very difficult decision to be made but the lads again all had a vote for their choice and it was too close to call. In fact the votes levelled with two players, normally in the past I have in this case given the manager the final vote of the two in question. But Chris & I felt that the votes gave a true indication on the players that deserve it and for different reasons so we have two winners & two trophies for Ian “Chunk” Gillespie & Michael Rimmer.
• TOP GOAL SCORER
No introduction needed here, this player has had a great season, and scoring a lot of important goals, 31 goals in 23 appearances, with 9 assists and coming 4th in the LSPL scorers chart a massive well done to Nick Best.
• MOST CONSISTENT
Again all votes for this award from the players, this player ran away with this award, without any hesitation most of you said his name straight away, another top performer this year and winning this award for the second year running (I believe) Alex “Archie” Richards.
• BEST IN TRAINING
Well, this was a tricky one; a lot of lads couldn’t make training on a regular basis with it being on a Monday slot, but for those who did two players fought it out for this award because of their efforts in training, always being there on a Monday evening but narrowing winning this award is Laurie Bridle.
• MAN OF THE MATCH AWARD
This award didn’t just go to the player with most man of the match rewards, Chris & I took into consideration the impact players have on and off the pitch. Three players really have stood out for this particular award and with 11 goals, 16 assists in 19 appearances (3 as a sub) and a total of 6 man of the match rewards the winner of this trophy is Kevin Price (if Kev not there get Dan to accept it)
• CLUB’S MAN OF THE YEAR
A lot of people ask me what this award means. Well the Club’s man of the year, goes to a player that not only gives his all on the pitch but also gives an important to the team, shows interest in club affairs & gives his feedback to the managers (weather they listen or not). This player scored 17 goals with 11 assists in 22 appearances and collected 5 man of the match rewards. He calls me every Saturday evening to find out the other results within the Alliance, regularly visits the website latest news etc. and not all of you are fans of his month from the sideline……….. But Craig “Billy” Williams, Chris & I feel deserves this award well done!
• CLUB TREASURER AWARD
No introduction needed, Steph helps the club a hell of a lot, she is also the club photographer, and she makes sure that players know how much they owe!! And doing her best to collect as much funds for the club as possible, without her efforts the club would struggle to survive throughout the season, so a big thank you Steph.
• DONKEY AWARD
This award is just for a laugh and to be honest this was a close run thing between 4 players for different reasons and I don’t mind naming them – Craig “Billy” Williams got a few votes…….. So did Daz Woodall & even Laurie Bridle got a couple of votes but the winner and possibly the most dangerous substitute a club could wish for Anthony Richards
