HANWOOD STILL UNBEATEN!!
Technical Services FC 3, Hanwood United Reserves 3 -
The Shropshire Alliance League was blessed with a full bill of fixtures today, there was some fine football played as League leaders Technical Services dropped points, there was 5, 7 & 8 goal thrillers also! League leaders Technical Services welcomed title rivals Hanwood reserves to the Sundorne Sports Village and were really pushed all the way by the travelling side. Hanwood started the brighter as their strike force caused lots of problems and Technical Services didn’t really get into the game until Hanwood hit the bar. That seemed to wake the home side up, playing some lovely football and both sides started to create a seesaw match. But it was Technical Services who took the lead Carl Owens finishing off a diving header, but all that work was un-done in a matter of minutes and when Tech Services slipped up at the back Gary Bailey was found un-marked at the back post to equalise and that was the last action as the half time whistle blew. Both sides started the second half playing very good football, really entertaining to watch, Wayne Edwards for Hanwood beat the offside trap and lob the keeper to take Hanwood into the lead. But the game was so open it was no surprise when Nick Best levelled it for Tech Services, again minutes after Hanwood’s second and with the game being played at a very high pace, a mistake in the centre of the park fell nicely to Wayne Edwards who scored off the post to get his side back into the lead and get his second of the afternoon. Technical Services never say die attitude paid off when Kevin Price found Laurie Bridle’s head to level the game once more. Towards the end the points could have gone either way so a draw was a fair result here.
