TOP TWO WIN IN CHASE FOR TITLE!!
Weston Rhyn 1, Technical Services FC 2 –
Weston Rhyn welcomed Shrewsbury based side Technical Services, Tech Services had been given an unwanted free week the Saturday before and were knocked off the top spot as a result. With the pressure on at the top Technical Services knew they had to put a good performance together to get anything from a Weston Rhyn side that were very strong at home and had scored 9 goals at home in their last fixture. But Technical Services did start the brighter, playing short simple passes and using the width of the big pitch to ood effect. Kevin Woodman then latched on to a through ball, he had beaten the offside trap and finished hard and low to the keepers left. Weston Rhyn’s heads went down a bit, Technical Services dominated the possession and Rhyn just couldn’t get a hold on the game. Technical Services then raced into a two nil lead in form Nick Best finished neatly passed the Weston Rhyn keeper. The game continued with Technical Services having a lot of joy across the whole pitch and Weston Rhyn just wanted half time to re-group. Weston Rhyn came out in the second half in a much better attitude and finally took the game to the away side. Weston Rhyn had changed the formation around and it had started to work wonders in the middle of the park, but Technical Services still looked dangerous on the break. Weston Rhyn had had several chances, making Alex Richards (Technical Services Keeper) make some fine point blank saves, they got their reward when Richard Morris scored to get the home side back into the game, but this goal came in the 83rd minute and Technical Services defended well to see out the 3 points. But it was a bit nervy for the title chasers who at one point had the cross bar to thank for the 3 points.
