TECHNICAL "5 STAR" SERVICES!!

After the shock away loss last weekend Technical Services needed a response, they had now sent a message out to all in the Alliance that we were beat-able & don't travel well. With that point it was not strange to see that with this fixture being our home game, the side looked a bit more back to normal!! TS lost inspirational goal keeper Alex "Archie" Richards to a freak accident at work, so in stepped Phil Jones, which left a problem at the left back position & with TS welcoming talented Craig Sanders back to the side. Craig was more than happy to help the side out; he was playing out of position but was more than capable of playing left back. Apart from that change around everything was back to full 'ish strength, we seem to have a different back four each week but still strong, Colin Thomas was doing well with Daz Woodall in the centre of the park, Michael Rimmer left wing has been the star performer so far this season (missed him last week), Laurie & Ian "Chunk" Gilliespie were partnered up again in the centre of defence, Craig "Billy" Williams went out to right wing and was looking to add to his goal tally so far this year. But the nice thing was to have Kev Price & Nick Best back playing up front.

But what a bad start in the new Nike kit, no one dealt with a ball bouncing at the edge of the 18 yarder Weston Rhyn striker took advantage and just struck it past fill in keeper Phil Jones. Technical Services then just went for it, playing some very good attractive football, doing the simply very quick passes, we used our left hand side very well, winning the first & second balls and just getting it down and playing our best football!! The final through ball was all we were lacking, with the pressure we were applying it was only a matter of time until we were level. Craig "Billy" Williams then scored the equaliser, a bit of a lucky ball scrambled its way through both TS forwards and a Weston Rhyn defender, but right place right time was all it was about for Billy. TS continued to dominant and how they never went into half time leading no one knew.

Second half started like the first Weston Rhyn just camped in their own half and leaving all their hopes on a counter attack. Weston Rhyn unfortunately had a player that had to retire and with no more travelling players (sure know how that feels this year!) Weston Rhyn was reduced to 10 men. TS went on a riot!! 2-1 up after a penalty Nick Best finishing it to the keeper’s right, good pen! 3-1 up Michael "Dog Man" Rimmer scoring a fine header at the near post from a good delivery from Daz Woodall. 4-1 (I missed this one, too many Lucozades and had to visit the little boys room!!!) a fine volley from Nick Best to get his second, a potential goal of the season (so I'm told sorry Besty lad!!). 5-1 Billy getting his second a quick free kick but finished very well keeper had no chance. Then Weston Rhyn's hopes of a counter attack paid off, a slow moving back pass to Phil Jones in goal, Weston Rhyn player took hold of it and with Phil Jones closing the gap down the lad had to shoot and shoot he did firing it into the top right corner (hell of a goal - not sure he meant it but fair play). Game finished with a score line that could of been anything, Billy and Besty probably disappointed not to have gone and got their hat tricks with the amount of chances they had (one on ones etc.) Kev Price could have had a few goals, Daz Woodall had some chances but in the end it finished 5-2, TS go top 2 points clear 2 games in hand - Oswestry? What about Oswestry?

This game was so so so important, we needed a big result to get players heads up again, unfortunately it was a home fixture & I can't see us having any problems at home we just need to get it through to the lads that the away games are going to be the ones we need them the most in! All in all the local paper was there today, we had a nice new Nike kit on & we enjoyed ourselves!!
