MAGNIFICENT SEVEN!!!
The Shropshire Alliance League fixtures suffered a bit today with just three out of five matches able to go ahead. Technical Services made easy work of a young Ludlow Colts side at the Sundorne Sports Village. However, Ludlow started the brighter, Technical Services taking their time to find their feet in the match and the game was in the early stages when Ludlow hit the post! The ball looked as if it was going in only for Technical Services goal keeper Alex Richards making a very quick reflex save. That moment seemed to spur the Technical Services’ side on; they were denied a penalty but then got the break through soon after when Kevin Price headed home with an assist for Craig "Billy" Williams. After the first goal Technical Services never really looked under threat but Ludlow are a very young, quick side trying to do the best they could with long balls. Technical Services went 2 up though when Carl Owens was brought down by the Colts’ keeper, Carl stepped up and slotted the ball home. Technical Services then went on a riot front pair Kevin Price and Carl Owens working very well together with the midfield creating chances and a solid backline. Carl Owens then turned provider for Kevin Price to get his second a fine volley from outside the 18 yarder going in off the post a fine well worked goal. From further pressure Craig Williams fired home a close range shot from a well delivered corner. The score line at half time four nil to the home side, Tech’s started the second half like the first dominating the possession and creating chance after chance. However Ludlow did dig in their defence playing well, their keeper pulling off some fine saves but it was all un-done when Kevin Price rounded the keeper kept his head to slot home the hat trick. Kevin Price then re-paid the favour when clear on goal and one on one with the Ludlow keeper he un-selfishly passed the ball for strike partner Carl Owens to get his second with a tap in. Technical Services stayed solid, looking for more goals and then substitute Tim Weston fired the nail in the Ludlow coffin to make it seven. Great performance by the league leaders and Ludlow have to make the long journey back down the A49 thinking to rebuild for next weekend.
