LIONS TAMED!! NORMAL SERVICE RESUMES!!
Technical Services FC found themselves against an old rival team, a team that had beaten them by penalties in last year’s Cup final. Felton Lions started the brighter creating chances but with the in form goal keeper Alex Richards they never really created a half chance. However, hat trick hero from last week Kev Price was proving to be a big handful for the Lions' defence, Kev gambled on a back pass and won the ball fairly from the marking defender and his keeper, leaving the keeper strand and scrambling back to goal Kev struck then saved off the line by a defender. It some how found its way back to Kev who picked his pass on the edge of the 18, Nick best heads Tech Services in front from 18 yards out great finish.
After taking the lead TS really started to look more comfortable, but too comfortable letting the ball bounce around on the edge of their 18 after a typical long ball, Felton Lions punished the TS defence with some very good fast football to make it 1 all. That’s how it stayed at half time.
TS came out the brighter winning first and second balls and just wanting it more than their opponents. Craig 'Billy' Williams was starting to control the centre of the park, and he supported Kev Price on the attack took his time and then spread a awesome through ball to switch the play to Dave Thomas about 10 yards out, Dave took a great first touch looked up and finished hard and low to the keepers right. TS looking comfortable realised their past mistakes and continued to win everything going creating a lot of chances. From the impressive work rate from both Kev Price and Nick Best TS always looked dangerous going forward. One pressing attack got TS a corner which 'Billy' decided he'd take, playing it short to man of the match Ian 'Chunk' Gillespie at the front post who finished again hard and low.
3-1 up Technical Services looked comfortable, but again fell asleep and got punished making it 3-2 and a nervous 15-20 minutes til full time. But TS held out and it was a good result playing a side that always plays well against them and continuing a great start to the season.
Next week Technical Services are away to Peacock United '08 and are hoping to continue this best start a season in the clubs history!
